Cheerleaders

Bring Them To Us

While cleaning up Blog About Nothing, streamlining the categories, and fixing all of the old posts, it has come to my attention that there are far too few cheerleader posts here.

Cheerleaders are absolutely incredible creatures and I’m a huge fan of all things “cheerleady”. (Disclaimer: Female cheerleaders only. I understand the need for the guys to be there, spotting for the girls while they perform their awesome stunts, but I wear special goggles to filter them out from my line of vision.) The “Cheerleader” category was added on the same day this blog was created, even in it’s prior life (Blog About Nothing has been reinvented several times over the past 5 years or so).

I will be rectifying this cheerleader neglect right away. Blog About Nothing will soon become the online cheerleader capital of the world.

Falcons Move On

July 24th, 2007

The sun is shining in Atlanta and it’s a brighter day. Michael Vick has at least one foot out the door and many boots aiming directly at his ass to get him the rest of the way out.

It now looks as though there will be no #7 on the field this season, or forevermore. The tumor that has plagued our city is being eradicated. I will once again be able to proudly proclaim myself as a Falcons fan, instead of apologizing every time I mentioned my team loyalty. And everyone should keep in mind that this is a Mike Vick thing, not a Falcons or Atlanta thing. Doesn’t say much for Virginia or Virginia Tech though, does it?

Oh, don’t get me wrong. The Falcons are going to suck - very, very much so - this year. But at least we can be proud of our suckiness. It’s better to be embarrassed from your on-field performance than your off-field misdeeds.

I’m willing to be forgiving to Joey Harrington. He’ll be working in an offense that was designed entirely around Vick. But, who knows, maybe he’ll give Atlanta more than he gave Detroit. I mean, come on, it was Detroit…

I look forward to the development of D.J. Shockley. I was a fan when he played at UGA. He could very well be our next franchise player.

The unknowns of Harrington and Shockley aside, there are many current reasons that I will continue to be a Falcons fan…

Yeah, life is still good in the ATL. Despite all of Vick’s dumbassiness, Atlanta is still an awesome city, with many superb football players, and more hot women per square mile than any other city in the world.

By the way, Ashley is also a high school math teacher. Why weren’t any of my high school teachers professional NFL cheerleaders?
