Resistance Is Futile
Maybe it’s a guy thing… OK, it’s most definitely a guy thing…
But, there’s something about military and police gear stores that just draws me in. Then, that little voice in my head starts in with the “Dude, check out the Blackhawk holsters… and the new watches and boots”.
Next thing I know I’ve got my credit card out and a pile of things that I absolutely must have. Especially when I’m shopping at lapolicegear.com.
My current visit brought me to the Luminox watches in their online store. I have a Luminox Navy Seals watch that I bought about 4 years ago and absolutely love it (I highly recommend Luminox to everyone, by the way). I have no intentions of replacing this awesome watch, but I did manage to break the unbreakable watchband so I was checking for availability… Then I saw all of these other great Luminox watches.
Oh, and of course, that Blackhawk holster.
I think I need to raise my credit limit.
Tobacco Alternatives

Something Else For Smokers
There are some interesting new products for smokers out there with a desire for non-tobacco smoke. These are legal bud herbal products that provide a more unique experience than common tobacco.
International Oddities is recognized as the true leader in the area of herb-based tobacco alternatives. They began working on these hybrid creations over 25 years ago and have developed some very interesting and enjoyable creations.
People who enjoy smoking shouldn’t believe that tobacco is the only legal smoke. The legal buds offered by International Oddities are preferred by many smokers when compared to tobacco, for taste as well as overall enjoyment.
Note, however, that there are many other companies trying to mimic International Oddities product offerings. You’ll find similar product names and websites that display similar graphics and text – sometimes exact copies – but they can’t match the quality provided by IO, and don’t have the experience that IO has in developing these smokes. If you are looking for legal bud tobacco alternatives, International Oddities should be your first choice based upon their established reputation and trust among similar smokers.
International Oddities also has great smoking supplies, such as original hookahs and rolling supplies. They are pretty much a one-stop shop for your herbal smoking needs.

It’s Never Easy
I don’t get it – right now I can find better flight deals to London than I can to New York City. Maybe British are more interested in my company than the Yankees are.
Actually, there are quite a few really great deals on airline travel right now, depending upon your destination and flexibility. Maybe that trip to Anchorage that I’ve been wanting to take will work out this year after all.

Much Better
Well, I remodeled my entire house last night.
OK, not exactly my entire house.
Alright, it wasn’t exactly remodeling either.
But, it sure seems that way. We purchased and installed some new home lighting in three rooms (so far) and the difference is amazing. Along with the new paint that we recently applied, it’s incredible how different a room can look just with updated lighting.

Sort Of
You know, I never really wanted to be a farmer. But when all of our animals run out of pet supplies at the same time and I need to restock everything at once, it sure seems like I should be loading them into a barn instead of a closet.
Seventy pounds of dog food, twenty-six pounds of cat food, fifty-six pounds of cat litter, treats, nip…
All of this for animals that aren’t even edible. Well, unless properly prepared of course.
New York

State Of Mind
I’ve been to New York City at least fifteen times so far. It might possibly be more than that actually because I first visited the Big Apple when I was about six years old. But, most of the visits to the city occurred when I was older since my wife is from New York and we have family and friends still there.
But, even with all of those visits there remain many things to do in New York that I haven’t yet found the time to enjoy, and in some cases have not even yet discovered. I’m not sure that it’s possible to fully experience everything this city has to offer, even if you live there.
Heck, I didn’t even get to Madame Tussauds until one of my most recent visit. Very cool place though, and I highly recommend it. Along with the other 8 million places to see and things to do in New York City.
If you’re not familiar with the city, or don’t know someone who is, your best bet is to look into the services of Trusted Tours & Attractions. They offer discounted tickets and online travel guides to the best sightseeing tours in New York, as well as every other major city in the United States. Certainly better than wandering around aimlessly, or even choosing your destinations, but planning your visit inefficiently.
Visit their website and sign up for their newsletter and you’ll have a chance to win a handheld GPS as well!

Better Car Rentals
It seems as though every time I travel for business I learn something new, and I’ve done quite a significant amount of business travel over the past ten years or so. My most recent learning experience was – when in need of a car rental, go straight to Advantage Rent A Car and bypass all of the hassles you’re bound to experience with the competition.
Of course, I learned this the hard way… Only after the company I originally had reserved a “full size” vehicle with could only provide me with a subcompact. I’m not sure they actually know the meaning of “reservation”.
Anyhow, Advantage bailed me out and earned my future business. Not only did they have the vehicle I originally reserved from the other company, but it was cheaper!
Heck, right now they have a special offer of up to 50% discount on luxury and convertible models. Hopefully they’ll still have that offer available the next time I travel.
Let It Snow

OK, So It’s 90 Degrees Right now…
As a native Vermonter who has moved south to enjoy the better climate (and lower taxes!), there’s still some things that leave me longing for visits back to the Great White North, or out west to Colorado. And there’s nothing I miss more than carving through that fresh white powder on a snowboard.
I’ve been skiing since I was about 5 years old, but after first being introduced to snowboarding while in my teens, there was no looking back at the ski. And, in my opinion, there is no competition for Burton snowboards. My skis were always K2 or Rossignol, and my snowboard was always Burton.
Despite the sweltering heat of the summer that’s upon us – or maybe because of that heat – my old Burton is on my mind lately. I might just have to visit my favorite online ski and board shop, Christy Sports, and set myself up with gear for a winter trip to the mountains this year.

The Easy Way
I’ve been hosting my blogs with paid webhosting companies for several years now, and regular websites for many years longer. I’ve been hosting websites in one capacity or another for at least 10 years. I have to admit, I’ve been through quite a few web hosts during this time, but am happiest with my current host.
After you’ve done it once or twice, moving from one web host to another isn’t all that difficult. The most difficult part is deciding upon the host to begin with. This is where WebHostingGeeks.com shines.
These guys have done a fantastic job of gathering data about the leading web hosting companies, and have organized it in such a way that most of your research into potential web hosts can be done right from their website.
WebHostingGeeks.com even lists the features and bonus features, as well as the rating of the host, in an easy to read side-by-side chart to make comparisons easy. You can even find the best budget hosting, quickly and easily.
If I ever changes hosts again, this website will be my first stop.
Domain Name Score
June 20th, 2008Domain Name Score
Have You Checked Yours?
In the world of web hosting, it is recognized that your website is only as good as the domain name representing it. Choosing the wrong domain name, no matter the intentions, can be the difference between success or failure for any website, as well as the services, products, or organization which the website represents or promotes.
Exactly how strong is your domain name? Does it accurately represent your product or service? Could another choice of name be better?
The only way to know for sure is to perform a domain name analysis on your chosen name. And there is no better expert in the area of domain names than Network Solutions.
Network Solutions have long been known as the domain name authority. They have taken this knowledge and expertise, and have created a simple online application to assist you with evaluating the strength of your domain name.
Once you’ve created a shortlist of potential domain name candidates, visit the Network Solutions website and follow the easy instructions on their “Domain Name Scorecard” to determine which domain name will be the best choice for your website.
This is a quick, easy, and free service from Network Solutions – and the reward for determining the score of your domain name could be priceless.
