Google’s Shiny Browser

I’m Convinced

I first tried Google’s new browser, Chrome, a few months ago when I first learned about it. That was a very early Beta release and I wasn’t overly impressed. Honestly though, I didn’t play around with it all that much.

Having been a dedicated Firefox user for several years now, I haven’t really found much need to look elsewhere. I am forced to use IE and Safari through my work, which requires that certain products are tested on all browser releases.

But, being a bit bored a little over a week ago, I went ahead and installed the latest version of Chrome. Since that time, I have logged well over 100 hours in this new web browser.

My conclusion?

I love it!

I’ve found one thing I don’t like, which worked in Firefox, in that I can’t set Chrome to automatically delete my browsing history every time I exit. Other than that, it’s damn-near perfect.

At this point, I’ve found no reason to start up Firefox or IE. Chrome is quicker than either, is clean, and just works.
