		<description>I support the Fair tax completely. However, it's important to realize that Congress has always had the power to tax income under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution. The problem, before the 16th amendment was passed, is that it had to be apportioned among the states which made it all but impossible. All the 16th amendment did was eliminate the apportionment requirement. Therefore, repealing the 16th amendment would not eliminate Congress' power to tax income, it would just reintroduce the apportionment requirement. That's fine and I support it.

However, it would be far more effective to pass an amendment repealing Article 1, Section 8, Clauses 2- "To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;".</description>
