Can You Direct?
Just in case you missed my earlier post mentioning this – there’s an interesting new Dockers contest where you make your own Dockers commercial, then submit it in competition with others. Viewers can vote for their favorite video right there on the website.
The winning videos will be showcased on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC. Anyone out there looking for instant stardom? OK, maybe not exactly “instant”, but this is a pretty easy competition if you’ve got a bit of “director” in you.
The videos can be relatively simple. From what I can tell, you’re only limited by your own imagination. One of my favorites from among the current entries is titled “Historically…” and it was submitted by “scotthduke”. It’s a simple commercial, but grabs your attention and portrays Dockers in a positive way. It looks like it’s a favorite of other voters as well.
At first I was just going to pass this information on to everyone else out there. But now that I’ve put more though into it, and have spent more time on their website, I have decided to submit my own entry. Hopefully I’ll have it done before the weekend is over.
After all, creating a commercial is far more enjoyable than that yard work I have waiting for me.
