It’s official – there’s no longer any valid excuse to not back up the data from your computer to an external hard drive.

The prices of these drives have absolutely plummeted over the past year or so, and their capacity has increased to levels previously unheard of.

You can actually pick up two 1TB external drives and use them to backup all of your photos, music, and application data from every computer in your home, then store one of the drives offsite in a secure location. Keep the other drive at home for quick restoration needs.
