Leave Me Alone

I love the self-checkout lanes at my local grocery store. I wish all stores had these.

It’s so much nicer just running my own purchases across the barcode scanner and bagging them up than to be subjected to the random chit-chat that real human cashiers always subject me to.

I don’t go to the store to socialize. It’s OK to tell me the total amount of my purchase, but even that’s not necessary. I can see, and I’m just putting it on a card anyhow.
