Yes, I do know how weird that sentence looks. And, yes, we are talking about that Slash. I mean, come on, when do you suppose the last time was Slash even read a book?
I have read some excerpts from this book and I can say that the choice of the word “excessive” in the subtitle “It Seems Excessive… but That Doesn’t Mean it Didn’t Happen” is an understatement.
As a guitarist myself - one who is not even worthy to own the same brand of picks as Slash does (although, ironically, I do) - I can say wholeheartedly that this man is one of my idols. He is truly a legend of rock and I wish I had half of his talent.
Slash and I both play Gibson guitars, use Dunlop picks, and feed our Marshall amps through Monster cables. Sadly, that’s where the similarities end. But I do find inspiration in Slash, and his music.
I will never play at his level, but I will read this book. And I have not doubt that I will continue to be inspired by this artist.
But, still, dude… Slash wrote a book

How do you know he wrote it? A LOT of books are actually ghost-written. Especially those from celebrity non-authors.
Celebrity + ghost writer = profit!

Yeah, I am thinking the same thing. I can’t imagine Slash sitting down and writing it himself. A ghost writer makes much more sense to me.

I LOVE him too! He’s one of my “guitar gods”! I can listen to a “crappy” song if he’s playing guitar on it just so I can hear him play. God knows he’s the only thing saving Velvet Revolver (just MY opinion!)
Plus, there’s just something about him that’s hot. Way back when I used to watch “Trading Spaces” (where neighbors decorated each others houses), they did two of his friends houses and he came over, like a “normal” person and he looked “normal” and it was really cool to see him in that context and it made me like him even more. He was well spoken and funny and just….fucking hot man! I would “DO” him!
I will definitely be picking up one of his books. This is my favorite post of yours in awhile

Oh and one small thing. I don’t like how your comments “do”. Like, when I write a comment and then hit send and THEN I see I’ve misspelled something? I can’t go back and edit or even delete it if I want to word it differently. Is there anyway you can fix that? To make it more user friendly? Just a thought! NOT bitching!

Well, the cover does say “Slash with Anthony Bozza”, so I’m sure Anthony did the actual writing.
But, I still like the vision I have in my head of Slash sitting there tapping away on the keyboard of his MacBook Pro late into the night, telling the groupies to “go away” because he has to make his deadline.
Either way, he still rocks.

Slash is so sexy! I used to have a giant crush on him when I was little. I’d read it whether or not he wrote it cause his sexy mug is on the cover…mmm…
