Bird Talk

December 14th, 2007

So, while reviewing some Google statistics covering a period of the past week, it jumps out at me that 40% of clicked queries leading readers to Blog About Nothing found this site by searching for “DeAngelo Hall”.

I’m not quite sure why that is, since this blog only ranks in the 28th position for DeAngelo Hall queries. I do, however, suspect that it has something to do with Google indexing our thoughts because, despite a lack of in-depth text here about DeAngelo, he is one of my favorite Falcons. Or, maybe it’s Google’s new Mind Control (Beta) application, which through the power of suggestion leads us to write about the topics it chooses.

Since there are obviously visitors here who share an interest in this topic, and not wanting to offend the Google-God, I shall write a few words about our favorite cornerback.

The Atlanta Falcons are in serious need of rebuilding. The departure of Bobby Petrino, and Michael Vick for that matter, will allow that rebuilding to commence. But, where do you start with such a mess?

Let’s just say that if I were given the responsibility of assembling a winning Falcons team, DeAngelo Hall would remain as the cornerback. I don’t even have a problem with his attitude most of the time. He brings some life to the team. Sure, he has crossed the line more often than he should, but I suspect with a decent head coach in place, along with a mutual respect, that he could maintain more self-control and use better judgement.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t want to see D-Hall completely muzzled either. He needs to be allowed to freely express himself - assuming, of course, it doesn’t cost the team 65 yards in penalties in a single game.

Hall is a very good cornerback. In fact, I’d say he’s an excellent cornerback. He may not be quite as good as he thinks he is, but at least he is confident. That’s something we haven’t seen from many of the other Falcons in 2007.

If there are any other Falcon fans remaining out there, let’s all hope 2008 sets this team in the right direction. Hire a real coach, not a college hack. Acquire a real quarterback, not a running back. And, for the love of God, do some background checks.

There definitely needs to be some cleaning out of lockers during the offseason. But, who should stay, and who should go?

In the meantime, think positive…

I think this is my favorite layout yet. It looks like you. Sorta. I mean, death and zombie cheerleaders would REALLY look like you more, but that’s for another website. I would tell you the name but there’s no reason to go over there since the website owner won’t do anything with it. It just sits there all sad and lonely, being ruled by an evil websitetator….

Thanks Melanie. I kinda like it too. I’ve got more tweaking to do as time permits and hopefully it will be even better. I felt the Sad Face/Happy Face accurately represented my mood swings, as well as certain friendships I have.
