It’s time to send a message to Washington and to America! The “lesser of two evils” can no longer be tolerated! Voters deserve to cast a vote for principle and, in 2008, there is only one hope for true, principled leadership in America and his name is Bob Barr.
Bob served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003 and continually fought to protect your civil liberties. During his service, Bob uncovered wide spread government spying, placed the Sunset Clause in the USA PATRIOT Act and was a House Impeachment Manager that led to the impeachment of William Jefferson Clinton for lying under oath in litigation related to Paula Jones.
Bob was also the first to call for the impeachment of President Clinton by sponsoring H.Res. 304.
Since leaving Congress, Bob continues to fight daily for the rights of all Americans. Bob serves on the board of the National Rifle Association and works with the American Conservative Union as well as having served on the board of the Libertarian National Committee.

Libertarian Party selects Bob Barr as 2008 presidential nominee
Former Congressman plans to take the White House as Libertarian candidate
Denver - The Libertarian Party has nominated former Congressman Bob Barr as its candidate for president for the 2008 election.
“I’m sure we will emerge here with the strongest ticket in the history of the Libertarian Party,” Barr stated in his victory speech shortly after being selected as the Party’s nominee. “I want everybody to remember that we only have 163 days to win this election. We cannot waste one single day.”
More than 650 Libertarian delegates met in Denver from May 22 till the 26 for the 2008 Libertarian National Convention. After six rounds of voting Sunday afternoon, Barr was selected as the Party’s presidential nominee.
“We’re proud to present to the American voters Bob Barr as our presidential nominee,” says Libertarian Party spokesperson Andrew Davis. “While Republicans and Democrats will fight for their own power in November, Libertarians will fight for Americans. Bob Barr is one of the strongest candidates in the Party’s 37-year history, and we look for him to have an enormous impact in the 2008 race. Republicans and Democrats have good reason to fear a candidate like Barr, who refuses to accept the ‘business-as-usual’ attitude of the current political establishment. Americans want and need another choice, and that choice is Bob Barr.”

Or More Of The Same?
Blog About Nothing is NOT a political blog, and will not become one.
However, as a long time Libertarian, I will do whatever I can to promote knowledge about the Libertarian Party and it’s platform. I don’t know how anyone can go the the polls and make a conscientious vote without knowledge of each party, and each candidate.
Personally, in the presidential election, I will be voting Libertarian. What are the alternatives?
Clown #1: A racist black lawyer and his dog wife who said she was never proud to be an American until hubby started getting famous.
Clown #2: A dog-ugly female lawyer married to a famous philandering lawyer who set this country on the wrong track after the great Reagan put us on the right track.
Clown #3: A senile former POW who is probably dying of melanoma. Censured by the Senate for his role in the Savings and Loan debacle.
It’s sad that this is the choice we’ve been presented with. These are the “best” the major parties can come up with.
At this time, it’s very likely that Bob Barr will be the Libertarian nominee. I voted for Mr. Barr as a Republican and I will also vote for him as a Libertarian.

Bob Barr represented the 7th District of Georgia in the U. S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003, serving as a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, as Vice-Chairman of the Government Reform Committee, and as a member of the Committee on Financial Services. He now runs a consulting firm, Liberty Strategies LLC, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and with offices in the Washington, D.C. area.

Bob Barr was appointed by President Reagan to serve as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia (1986-90), and served as President of Southeastern Legal Foundation (1990-91). He was an official with the CIA (1971-78), and has practiced law for many years.

Former Republican Congressman Bob Barr of Georgia announced Monday he is seeking the Libertarian Party nomination for president.
While none of us are disillusioned enough to think he actually has a chance, it’s good for America - and therefore good for all of us - to have a viable choice other than the three jackasses currently in the race.
Voters “want a choice,” Barr told a gathering of about 40 journalists and supporters in a small room at the National Press Club.
“They believe that America has more and better to offer than what the current political situation is serving up to us,” Barr said.
He said the federal government has “run amok fiscally,” the presidency has grown too powerful, and individual freedoms have “fallen into disrepute.”
Barr, an outspoken opponent of the Iraq war, said that as president he would begin bringing the troops home from that country and elsewhere around the globe.
He insisted he will not be a “spoiler” but said Republicans have urged him not to run out of concern that he will draw votes from Sen. John McCain, the presumed GOP nominee.
Barr said he is “confident” he can win the Libertarian nomination when the party holds its convention over Memorial Day weekend in Denver.
Barr, 59, quit the Republican Party two years ago, saying he had grown disillusioned with its failure to shrink government and its willingness to scale back civil liberties in fighting terrorism.
