So, I have this theory that I could be elected as President of the United States by running exclusively on a platform of the 5 Day Weekend.
Now, don’t get me wrong… We would have to keep American productivity at very high levels to remain competitive on a global basis. Quite possibly those two workdays would need to be 15 hour days - but heck, I already work 10+ hour days in the old fashioned 5 day work week.
I think that’s reasonable. You bust your ass for two days, then enjoy five days with the family, friends, or all by yourself.
Oh, and I can’t promise that I’d be able to end the war in Iraq - but with my new plan, we’ll only conduct the war on Mondays, and only between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
I’ll try to iron out the remaining details before election day.

Woohoo! It’s Friday! It’s the weekend!
I can’t wait to cut out of the office and head home. I’m looking forward to a very relaxing evening with a few bottles of Stella Artois with my beautiful wife.
Then, on Saturday, I can start working on that huge list of landscaping work that I couldn’t do last weekend because I had to work. Hmmm…
Well, if I work really fast and get an early start - maybe around 7:00 AM, I can call it a day at around 8:00 PM. That will only leave me with about another 12 hours worth of landscaping work to complete on Sunday.
Then, it’s back to work here at the office a few hours later.
Yeah, like I was saying. Weekends suck.
Maybe it will rain… Then I can stay inside and enjoy Stella and my wife.
